Single speed conversion 11t lock ring query

I am looking to convert my old Raleigh into a single speed for the winter.
I have looked at the various kits and they say that a 11t locking is not suitable (12t minimum). I was going to put the spacer kit onto a Mavic Aksium wheel (10 speed). The cassette that was on it had a 11t lock ring. I may well be missing something glaringly obvious, but any advice appreciated on the proposed conversion.

The 11t lockring will be too small diameter - you want the lockring to put even pressure on the spacers, which are the same diamater as a regular, 12t lockring.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0
