Do freehubs slip?

Am getting some kind of slipping from drivechain. Kind of like when chain has stretched.
The chain and cassette (DA and Ultegra) are pretty new (300 miles) and I have checked the chain with a tool and it seems fine.

It first happened about 80 miles into RideLondon, at about the same time that I realised that my normally very clicky Fulcrum Zero freehub had stopped clicking, so I wondered if it was related.

One other thing I can think of is worn chainrings, but I would find it odd if they both (the 50 and 34) wore out and made a noise at the same time.
The only other is the bottom bracket. Do they make odd slipping/clanking noises when they fail?

Bike is about 18 months old and previous chain (original) was not actually 100% worn out when I changed it.

Thanks in advance for any pointers to what the problem may be
I will try different wheels to see if its freehub.
I have a spare luckily so will be trying to get my clicking back too.

Yes they can slip if worn or over greased or some part has broken.

    Strip it and look.

    OK thanks.
I will stick the winter wheels on and go for a ride first, then be brave and investigate if it does seem to be the freehub.

It feels/sounds like its happening at the front, but I guess it could just seem that way.
