Campagnolo EPS - Anything else needed?

I've bought the main components for a Campagnolo EPS conversion i.e. the following:

Front mech
Rear Mech
Shifters
Power supply/battery
Interface unit
Battery charger

I need a power supply frame mount (short version). Ribble have got these in stock.

Anyone with experience of these things able to advise what else I need to purchase? Do I need the connect/disconnect tool, for example?

Thanks

When I was discussing this with a mechanic recently the only things he mentioned worth noting is that you should use a Campag chainset with the EPS kit. He has an FSA crankset and has experienced problems with the front derailleur auto trim function not working properly - there is no manual override available.

Other thing he mentioned is to make sure you have a strong rear hanger - the torque from the EPS derailleur motor can put quite a bit more stress on the hanger than the mechanical equivalent.

You going to go for the new 'slim shape' battery?

Thanks Peter. I'm thinking of modifying (drilling some holes) in my LOOK 586, or maybe putting it on a Dogma " (EPS specific) I just happen to have laying around!

I've bought the standard battery. My frame has battery mounts on the top of the down tube.

I've put it all together and everything works. One concern I had was disconnecting the plugs/sockets without the special tool, but it's okay as long as you don't pull on the wires.

Done it a number of times now, the tool is really essential if you want to maintain the integrity of the connections.

The magnetic cable threader is very useful but you could probably get away with some stiff wire.

Make sure you always have the magnet plugged into the battery if you disconnect any connections, it can blow the computer.
