I saw these on eBay and managed to miss out twice, missed then end the first time and got out bid on the relist.

I can't seem to find an equivalent model Egg Beater anywhere. Was it a limited run.

Also are they any good; how do they compare to Shimano M520s?
I used to just ride my bike to work but now I find myself going out looking for bigger and bigger hills.

I may be wrong but they look to me like the 2Ti and like most of the older models they were plagued by bearing reliability problems, snapping axles...
  • I don't think you'll find anything better than M520's for the price.

The M520's on my commuter have done 4000 miles plus and I use the same cleats for my MTB, no failures at all, no replacement, they are Shimano after all.

Egg beaters - pedals seem to last about 6months max, and I know a chap who goes through the cleats in 6 weeks.
