Lovely buffing Conan. You're a top buffer but that doesn't solve the frame identity conundrum.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0

Wouldn't it be surreal if he'd just butchered Merckx's T de F winning frame that was worth a billion?0

The bike is in the paint shop at the mo so cant have a look, but i think it says RGH, what does that mean? There is a code on the bottom of the bottom bracket, i though id taken a picture of it but clearly not, ill get a pic of it as soon as i can.
It's RGF - a French bottom bracket (but that doesn't mean it is a French bike). Bulge formed and good quality - dates the frame to the 70s. I think the later investment cast BBs replaced the Bulge formed BBs and don't have the RGF logo. It does suggest that you are butchering a good quality frameConanG1989 wrote:HaHa yeah well im waiting for my mate to pull his finger out and paint my frame, then i can check the code on the bottom bracket and stop taking pictures of parts that arnt attached to anything. as nice as they are.<br abp="811">If the frame is worth a billion i will be happy to allow people to come and stroke it.
Naaah, it was only worth a billion before you hacked it up. Now it is worth £9.99!Faster than a tent.......0 -

Done a couple of them. One was given to me after the owner had puked during a crit (thanks mate). The acid from the exodus tarnished the thing. Very difficult not to knock off the logo.
Number 2 Chorus seatpin was stuck in a frame. Of course the top of it provides a good location for a spanner. it came out with a lot of twisting and grunting and oil. Spent hours cleaning them up. Fine 2000 wet and dry paper, steel wool, cheap 'Autosol' chrome polish... you know what your doing.
I want news on the frame please.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -
This is a bit like that decals thread - it goes on and on and still no frame identification.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0

The cranks look great, I'm not sure I would have gone with the anodised bolts though, it's a bit like drawing a moustache on the Mona Lisa for me...0 -

You've done some great work so far.
Personally I wouldn't go with the gold touches, but I'm quite conservative.
What's happened to the frame since your last photo?0 -
