Whilst in the alps, our guide mentioned it would be a good idea to carry one of the above for emergencies to replace a knackered rear mech as you can't do a single speed botch (i.e. shortening the chain and running directly on a sprocket) on a full sus without risking the frame being stressed (and chains can be stronger than frames on occasion)... The problem is, either my googling skills are particularly poor, or i'm googling the wrong thing.... anyone got an idea where I can get one of these?

At that price you might as well carry a spare mech. And a hanger.I don't do smileys.

If your going away apparently if you wanna just take a rear mech with you chainreaction and wiggle do a 365day money back refund if it doesnt get used so just order and take a spare mech.0
