Advice required from the resident BB genius (BBright)

Apologies for the dull thread but my head is pickled with all this BB compatibility nonsense.
I have a BBright Cervelo S5 and a English threaded P2 (mega exo BB), I would like to have a crank based power system that can be switched between the two.
Currently I have adapters for BBright to shimano HT2 and for GXP on the way.
I have now found a power2max gossamer which comes in mega exo format.
My question is...which adapter will I need to run so I can have a mega exo BB installed in the S5 so I can swap between it and the P2 easily?
Will either of the shimano HT2 adapters or the GXP adapter allow me to do this or do I need a further adapter?
Any advice is greatly appreciated

  • After further googling it appears that

this fsa adapter is a BB as well, hopefully minimizing the amount of interfaces and reducing the chance of creaking.
    Hopefully that's all I need?

A Hollowtech 2 adaptor would work with the Gossamer crank.

I would add that the FSA MegaExo adaptor is for their carbon cranks which have narrower bearings - you'd probably need to fit an extra wavy washers to take up the extra end play for the Gossamer.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
  • Thanks for the reply...why oh why does this have to be so complex!
So you think an HT2 adaptor plus standard mega exo bb should do the trick? Nothing to be gained by buying that BB/converter above?
