    Oh, ffs!
Is this going to turn in to another one of your ask-about-something-but-ignore-all-the-advice-and-start-another-related-thread threads?

Any SPD shoes will work with any SPD pedals. Those clever chaps at Shimano designed a system that became an accepted standard.

Now stop twatting about and buy some shoes and pedals.
    Or don't.

wont go into but someone did write a very interesting article on how some people need to seek approval from other people despite already decided to make the change/event/purchase happen.it also helps them with the Rationalization of what they have done and Post-purchase rationalization.

For example, a consumer cannot decide between two popular video game consoles, but in the end decides to purchase the one that many of their peers also own. After purchasing it, they may find few games for their console worth purchasing, and more for the console they did not purchase. However, they do not wish to feel they made the wrong decision, and so will attempt to convince themselves, and their peers, that their original choice was the correct one, and the consumer's opinion is better than everyone's opinion.

help that insight helps FOR THE THICK PEOPLE :D

    So says Wikipedia.

If you want to try SPDs then buy some (cheap) ones and give them a go.
Your other thread in Beginners made it plainly obvious that some riders prefer flats and some prefer clipless pedals. There is no right or wrong answer.

£17.49 inc cleats is cheaper. Not XT, but brand new.

Or look on eBay for sales of shoes and pedals together.

isnt the XT alot better then the 520's

if i like them i dont need to buy a better pair later on. if not i can sell them on.

or is it better to have brand new ones from the start?

sorry if im pissing anyone off here i jus wanna make sure i make an informed decision

if you haven't noticed i have a strange tendency to think i know best.

Those XT ones look very good and are hardly used. Buy them if the seller accepts your offer.
