Bike Lights

probably should be in the road section, but ill drop it in here... i guess someone will tidy up after me if i make a mess.
anyway, i drive a car at night and i hate, hate, hate bright strobed flashing lights. they are annoying, bright, right in the eye line and everything that the cyclist on the roads needs. when driving and glancing and you see them in mirrors, or just flashes of them you think that they are the emergency services.
but alas, i need some, so on my travels of looking, i had a wonder.
front lights are white, usually static (it makes no sense to have them flashing)
rear lights are red
why don't bikes / non-engined [read slow] have their own colour?
in the wonderful world of led, any colour can be made bright, so...
police are blue flashing
repair / service vehicles are orange
red is cars
yellow looks like orange
purple / magenta / pink look like red
what is green?
bikes are green (ecologically speaking)
if rear lights on bikes were green, and not flashing, a car can automatically realise that this is a bike, and more importantly, that the bike is travelling at 10-20 mph, and not (at worst case) 60 mph.
this just makes sense to me.
thoughts?

One colour for the rear of all vehicles makes sense to me.
Flashing rear bike lights are really annoying but you certainly notice them so I guess they do the job well. I use one flashing and one static on the rear.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
Green could be a cat in the road, or a badger. Do badgers have green eyes?I don't do smileys.

I may not be cute and may be no loss to mankind if driven over, but how dare you say I'm not a pussy. Nobody can run away from a stepdown or gap jump quicker than me.0 -
Does this mean instead of culling the badgers we should strap them to our handlebars...?Viscount Grand Touring - in bits

We're conditioned to slow down or stop for red lights, and drive straight past (or over or through) green ones. What you need is one of they new-fangled lights that does different modes - bright enough to see roots on forest trails when you're on a forest trail, bright enough to be seen when you're on the road, strobe when you're approaching a roundabout or junction. And two red ones at the back, one flashing and one notSpecialized Roubaix Elite 2015
