I have plans for a 6 Month European Tour next year, my bike will be coming with me so I was hoping to get some riding in!

The current countries we are planning to visit are;

Holland
Germany
Belgium
France
Spain
Italy
Austria
Hungary
Slovakia
Czech Republic
Switzerland
+ Any that stand between us and the next...

Can any one recommend some good websites to visit to find trail centres/rides in these countries?

I'd be looking for more XC than DH!

SWMBO is a novice so may have to find some suitable for her too.

Thanks

Tom

  • Wow, what an amazing sounding trip!

Have you seen this website before (arguably it's more DH focussed, but where there's DH trails and bike parks there's usually XC). Might be worth a look anyhow: http://www.worldbikeparks.com/locator

    Enjoy planning :)

Thanks, I'd not seen that website before so will take a look, I have found a few that seemed to have potential but when opened seemed to lack information!

I'm hoping it will be an amazing trip, especially if my van (1970 VW Camper) makes it!

    Thanks

  • Hi Tom, I'm planning a slightly shorter trip next year, probably 3 months plus a week or two. Not getting as many Countries in as you though, heading south for warmer weather :D . So mainly Spain and back through France. I just tend to look at what's available close to where we're parked up (bit bigger MH). I take mtb and will put slicks on for road riding and switch tyres for any offroad stuff.
We hope to set off towards the end of March and plan to be back in time to catch the Tour depart in sunny Yorks. Have a brilliant trip and enjoy the planning too - I know I do.
    Steve.
