shimano vs other makes of gears

Hi
Should I stick with shimano cassettes and chainrings or go for other makes like superstar, middleburn, trailbright (name others please if better)?
Are the alloy chainrings ok and wear well and do they change gear smoothly etc?

    Personally I'd go Shimano, good value and best quality

    KMC chains are considered better value than Shimano, Shimano cassettes generally considered the best, lots of very good options on chainrings, alloy chainrings will wear out faster but they shift just as well and are of course lighter.
    Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.
