New Shifters = 11 Speed Conversion?? Discuss
If I swap my Ultegra 10-speed shifters for 11-speed shifters then my bike will become 11-speed?
NB: I already have a set of wheels with 11-speed hub and cassette
If you disagree please explain where you see the issues. Any advice/help appreciated.
My thoughts are:
1. Rear mechs are slaves to the shifters, so a 10-speed mech should be ok with an 11-speed shifter (is there a flaw in this logic?)
2. An 11-speed chain is narrower than 10-speed so there should be no problem with it feeding through the rear mech
3. Just need to check that the 11-speed chain is not too narrow for the existing 10-speed chainset (but I doubt it)

Does the hub fit the frame? I've not looked into 11sp at all but I know of some difference in the hub - is it that the DS flange is further inboard rather than increasing the axle width and OLD to accommodate the wider cassette?0

Forget the hub and wheels - I have no issue there (hub fits the frame etc) - that's not the question0
