Cassette block oscillates a little more than it should when riding. The block is "tight " enough on the freehub body. I can also move the cassette block a little from side to side. Is the freehub body knackered ? Or is it more likely to be the bearings.
I can also move the rim from side to side a little when in the dropouts which i know with my limited tech skills is wrong.

if the cassette is moving on the body then you are missing something.

as to the rest it depends on the make of the hub.

but it sounds like the cassette movement you mention is the whole wheel moving on the axle as you say the rim can be moved.

    time to service the hub.
