i have just bought a ortlieb seat post bag that has a plastic clamp though suggests not to be used with carbon fibre seat posts - considering a lot of bikes now have carbon fibre seat posts has anyone actually used the two together? :?:

Not quite the same thing but I use an Ortlieb bar bag on carbon fibre bars, which it advises not to do.
I think the issue is the plastic clip being fastened tightly to the carbon fibre bar may score the surface causing a fast fracture with an instantaneous failure of the bar, ie, no time to spot it before it breaks in half. I stuck some sticky back foam pads around my bar before putting the plastic clip on. This has so far protected my bars and I've had no problems.
Can't say it'll definitely be fine, but the clip scoring the carbon fibre is the only issue I could think of!0
