Hi

Looking for a wheel, min 38mm preferably. Something without the alu braking surface. So I was thinking carbon clinchers. But below the Firecrest price range!

What other options are out there?

Thanks

Year round carbon clinchers? You live in a desert?

  • haha. that was part of my question I guess...(but without being clear)

Are there any that can be used in the wet?

    Thanks

You can use any wheel in the wet, but the fact remains that you won't come close to the braking performance of alu with a carbon braking surface. If you're looking for one wheelset year round then don't look at carbon.

what about FarSports 38mm carbon clinchers - lots of good feedback - and some very soft pads for better braking

it rained so much last year, that I don't believe there is any left. you should be good for a while at least

This. It is the future of road bikes in my opinion. Fantastic braking in wet or dry, getting more lightweight, doesn't chew your alloy rims up in winter, or delaminate your carbon clinchers in summer!
