bottom bracket problem
I have a trek 1.5 with a square taper bottom bracket.i noticed yesterday that the chain is rubbing in the smaller rear gears. it as always had a slight rub when in the biggest gear on the back which I understand that you cant get them perfect.(although my boardman hardtail pro never rubs) I also started to hear a slight clicking so I checked the bottom bracket. I grabbed the crank arm near the pedal and pushed and pulled it sideways. there is movement and a slight knocking noise. the bike is only 7 weeks old and I have done no more than 500 miles. would it be covered in my warranty? I realise that its probably a cheaper bb in there so would I be better of buying a better one. don't know which model is in there at the moment but if its not covered in the warranty I will replace myself. any ideas on longer lasting square taper bvottom brackets?

If there's movement in the BB after 500 miles it's more likely the thing is coming loose than worn out. Back to the shop if it's reasonably close. It's one of the things they should do at the first 6 month check.0

the rub is down to the bottom bracket. the whole crankset moves to the right when i push down. its just stated to do it. the tapered spindle moves when i apply presure to the crank.0
