Simple question. Is the float X worth the extra money over the normal float? What makes it better?
Thanks

What sort of riding do you do?0

piggyback air shocks are better for longer downhill routes and look far cooler
a cheaper option is the rockshox monarch RC3 plus0 -
If you are heavy and or have a hi ratio rear suspension ( ~3:1) I'd avoid any extra/large volume aircans as they'll probably blow through all the travel too easily and may run out of air pressure range when trying to stiffen up the air spring to cope. Note to work out the suspension ration divide rear wheel travel by the shock stroke length . Looks like the Float X has a Low Volume Air can so should be better for the large ass /hi ratio bikes.Norco Aurum 3 viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=129395310

do people not use search engines to find out information these days
having a piggyback increases oil volume which keeps the oil cooler for longer which in turn means the compression and rebound valving will stay consistent. not a huge deal on small DH or XC courses but for long DH's then the shock will work as is should for longer than if it didn't have the piggyback.0 -
