Rutland Water - Distance

Can any one please tell me the distance of the track at Rutland Water.
No magnet on my wheel and think the Garmin is loosing signal in the woods.

    With the peninsula, 23 miles iirc...

    What are conditions like in the winter?
    Would I get round on a racer?

    It is rideable all year but a lot of the sections are gravel with some slightly woodsy bits.

    Not suitable for road bikes with 23/25mm slicks I'd say, but if you have a tourer with 28mm treaded tyres then it should be ok.

    Personally I wouldn't on a road bike.
