I've had this a while now but I've recently changed a few bits over. XTR brakes, XT shifters and Chain set, new rear tyre that is a bit more mud friendly and got rid of the Boyzone spec white grips (Which had to be cleaned after every ride). Still rides really nicely and is able to deal with pretty much anything I've found so far. I would like to change the saddle for aesthetic reasons to a black one but the current one is actually really comfortable.

I have the same bike, I really much prefer the raw aluminum to the mulit-coloured black ones.

I reckon it needs some more red near the wheels, maybe rotor bolts or dust cap?

I'll see what I can do ;-) believe it or not all the red anodised stuff came with the bike apart from the chainring bolts
