My colleague has lost a few stone dieting and hitting the gym but is interested in getting abroad bike.
My question is will the Triban 3 be updated for 2014 like other manufacturers or will it stay the same.

Any update might not be better. They updated it this year, from the original red version to a white version. The red version, which has carbon forks, is the one most people want. It's still on the website, but right now in only one size.

It depends, normally if the price stays the same the spec of the bike drops a bit. Really just a case of wait and see.
  • Decathlon don't updates their bikes yearly like the other companies do. As RDW says the new Triban 3 White is heavily downgraded: carbon fork to steel, Shimano 2300/Sora equipment to Microhift. Still a decent bike though. The Carrera TDF might be a better option now, when it's "reduced" to £299.

But there was still plenty of the original Triban 3 Red bikes in the Belfast store yesterday. It'll vary from store to store though.
  • Stick with the Red T3. You can still find them. I saw a few in the Birmingham store over the August.
