Hi folks, I've just picked up a bargain cervelo R3 today and starting to think about the build. I'm going to be building it with a gxp chainset and it seems there are a few ways to run gxp in bbright bbs. Ideally I want to avoid an adapter and have came across this rotor BB that claims to work without need for adapter.

I can seem to find this on the uk rotor site or any stockists in the uk. Does anyone know the part number or where I can get one over here?

Cheers :D

  • I had a tough time working out what to do with my r3 team! I couldn't find any details on the above rotor bb. Velotech services are the main uk distributor. When I asked them they could only supply a bbright to 24mm bb (for shimano). This wouldn't work with the gxp spindle as it tapers down to from 24mm to 22. Most people tend to go rotor bb and chainset.
I run a sram press fit bb with a wheels manufacturing adaptor with a sram red gxp chainset, I ordered the enduro version also.

No problems so far with the adaptor. It was well greased prior to installation and has no creaks etc.

    Hope that helps!

Thanks for the info ross. I think the rotor BB is quite new to the market and not sure of availability in the UK. Where did you order the adapters in the UK? I may go that route but having difficulty finding them over here.

This is the adaptor I used but got it from sigma sports when I ordered my frame. I'd get your lbs to fit. It looks easy but it needs a perfect fit!

    Cheers Ross.

I've heard back from Rotor and rgw gxp spscific BB is only availble to the US market so I've decided to just order one from the US. Hopefully it wont take too long to get here, can't wait to get out on the R3.
