Hi there,
I'm soon to be getting a new commuting bike and originally I was planning on getting the Specialized Crosstrail Sport Disc:
http://www.specialized.com/gb/gb/bikes/ ... sport-disc
However, whilst in my LBS the very helpful shop assistant pointed out the Merida Crossway 300:
http://merida-bikes.com/en_gb/bike/2013 ... ossway+300
He said that Merida actually made Specialized bikes but you got better value/components with the Merida because it was a lesser known brand whose price is not inflated by the brand name.
Does anyone have any comments on this or the two bikes i'm looking at?
Thanks!

Pretty much the same bike with very similar specs and probably out the same factory, so choose on price.
Why suspension forks? the NEX is not a very nice one, I'd save weight and money and get something rigid.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0
