Found the click - at last
This story started a few weeks ago when clicks during pedelling were found to be caused by BB bearings running in mud rather than grease.
The MegaExo BB was replaced by a HT2 plus a couple of 1mm shims and was fine for a short period then a click returned.
I looked at crank bolts, seat tube and spd pedals and all were fine.
After reseating and greasing the BB a couple of times the cause turned out to be a (presumably minute) bit of grit between the lh crank and the axle splines. It must have been that because it stopped after I throughly washed the lh crank and axle before regeasing.
I am happy now.
