Mechanical v electronic groupset frame compatibility

Looking at a frame set which can only fit electronic groupsets (shimano) but not mechanical. Its obviously fits current electronic groupsets but have a slight concern that newer electronic versions might change their set up and no longer fit frame (eg if I needed a new front mech in future). Any thoughts?
