compatibility of Wide wheels

Hey Guys,

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I having read about issues with wide wheels not being compatible with certain frames I thought I would ask.

Is it simply a case of measuring the distance between chain stays and fork legs to know if wide wheels will work with my frame. I have a 2007 Cervelo R3 and am looking at some 25mm wide tubs and while the distances look enough I am a bit nervous about ordering.

Any one got any thought or experience
