damage on new rim

I ordered a rim that the web site said was in stock; almost 1 month later it arrived in original pacakaging and bubble wrap. But with a gash in the side wall.



it is very small. however it is quite a deep gash where the pads rub. I fear it may crack too.

I am not being to over cautious asking for a replacement am i? Would you send it back too?

its damaged, therefore not 'new' so yes send it back

Your are well within your rights to demand a replacement. It would more than likely damage the break pads for a start

Yes, especially with rim brakes.
