What are my options?

After a recent ride, I was giving the bike a clean when i noticed I had broken off a whole tooth on the larger of the two front chain rings (I ride a 2012 canyon 'grand canyon' 29er).
I spoke to the guys at my local bike shop who quoted me 60quid to replace the ring but they can't get the part until the end of Sept (which is weird as I can find dozens of places that sell them on the web!)
I'm terrible on bike parts but what other options are available to me? Is it worth changing the whole set - is there much weight to be saved there?any recommendations?

What is the crankset? Changing a chainring is relatively easy, you can do some outer rings without having to take the cranks off.0

just replace the chainring and the shop are probably quoting an expensive one..
work out the number of teeth, even if the means counting them, search online, check it's compatible with yours and fit0 -
