how do i find bottom bracket size? (what tools needed)

im trying to find the size of my bottom bracket on my 2012 cannondale quick 4

for some reason my LBS want to know the size to see if they have one in stock.... seems a bit odd

how do I find the size of these, or would I need to get it out

It'll be 68mm English thread. Type/size will depend on model of crank or remove the crank and measure the length of the spindle - if it's a Shimano M171 like the 2013 model, it will be 122.5mm according to Shimano's Tech Docs, model BB-UN26:
