Some trickster might apply for a credit card in your name, but if he also gave your address that suggests he hasn't really thought it through ...

I get precompleted credit card applications once every month or so. It's just the credit card companies offering you a card.

As above, presumably it's not a scam/fraud or they'd have had the card sent to their address.

I get two partially filled in CC applications every month, one from Barclays, one from <can't remember>. I just send them each others junk mail using the pre-paid envelopes (minus my own details of course)

first one was Tesco - Tesco declined the application due to it looking fraudulent

the one today is Halifax - was accepted but was awaiting signature (the pack this morning stated welcome to your unlimited current account with £2000 over draft)

they have set me up on the "register" now according to the bloke i just spoke to at Halifax, so if there are any further applications in my name they will require photo id etc

im worried it will effect my scoring!?

Ok, so someone is fraudulently trying to set this stuff up in your name?
I assume they're doing this online?

The bank should be going to the Police and the Police should be tracing the originating internet IP address. If this is happening to you, you can guarantee it's happening to other people, the Bank and the Police should be taking it very seriously.

Happened to me a while back - fortunately my mail was being redirected so three agreements came to me. They definitely weren't marketing per approved applications, they were successful applications.

Reported it to each issuer. Everything was stopped and apparently no -ve credit issues.
