Problem with spacers and Ritchey Seat mast topper.

Following cutting the integrated seat mast on my Wilier Cento Uno to what I thought was my ideal position I tried raising it a fraction by inserting a couple of spacers taken from the offcuts into my Ritchey seat mast topper. Having now come to the conclusion that my seat may be too high I want to lower it but am having problems removing the spacers due to the fact that they are wedged tightly inside of the mast topper and will not come out.
Can anyone suggest a solution ?

Try hooking them out with a bent piece of wire to try and catch the top edge and work your way around the outside?
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

Cheers for your suggestion Monty but they are wedged too tightly to move.
I did try inserting a metal coat hanger with super glue on the end in the hope that the hanger would stick to the carbon spacers but it was extremely difficult in such a tight space and the super glue didn't seem to want to stick.
Someone must have encountered this problem before ?
