Tyre suggestions needed

Hello,
I have started to ride more often, mainly on my local cycle track to build fitness and loose a few pounds. I ride a Saracen Element 2 which has Maxxix (2.1") Cross Country tyres fitted. The tyres and inner tubes are new as Saturday I went onto a much rougher path which gave me 2 punctured tyres (had them on the bike for neary 4 years) and 3 inner tubes. The 2nd one on the rear had a 1/2" tear in it matching a slightly bigger tear in the tyre.
I went out again yesterday only to find the inner tubes were down on pressure and needed to be pumped back up every 2 miles or so to get back home.
I am not a lightweight guy (120kg and 6ft) and now cycle for 20miles along the track in about 90 minutes. The route I took Saturday had more inclines in it which is what I feel I need to cycle up more.
I am therefore after suggestions for tyres and inner tubes that would stand up to the task. Rear tyre is at about 50psi and even then when I sit on the bike it squishes down a bit. Front is at 40psi.

Bigger volume needed, see what will fit, but look at 2.2-2.4, you're likely to be more limited on the rear.
For Bombproof you could get some DH tyres, although something like a High Roller will give you a reasonable amount of volume.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -
You could try some bontrager xr4 tyres in 2.2 these are oversized for the size.
What are the cycle track conditions, i did read you had a tear in one of the tyres ?
Theres loads of very good tyres about but might not fit on the rear because they are large volume

The cycle track is a mixture of tarmac and then a patchwork of gravel and dirt. The sort you might see as a farm track. I tend to keep towards the cleaner parts of the track when out and about.
Not sure what I had touched to get the tear but it was in the sidewall near the rim (about 10mm away from it). Trying to think what I might have gone over but nothing stands out.
Going to take the tyre off tonight and have a good look over it and the inner tube. Might be just I need a stronger inner to put up with the psi.
Might go and see my local bike shop as well to see what they suggest.Weight on June 18th 129kg

be sure your rims can take the wider tyres0

Well it seems that I have just been unlucky with the state of the local cycle track.
Took tyre off to check the inner tube and the the tyre itself. Investigation shows that the tyre has a cut (approx 10mm) in in right on the edge of one of the central blocks. The inner tube had a corresponding 3mm hole in it. Tried to repair it but the patch did not want to hold so replaced the inner tube with my last spare.
May not work but have cut the old tube so that it can 'wrap' round the new one. Might give a little bit more protection but will be looking for some stronger inner tubes, weight not really an issue as I am carrying enough myself .
