I have a gtr elite, which has a sram red crankset and is bb30.
But which one? Is it a whole bb similar to an mtb one or is it just bearings? And whats this pf 30 and pf 46 ive seen.
Someone please help as im planning ahead.

bb30 is a 30mm diameter crank which goes through two bearings (similar to your headset bearing if youve had them out) pressed straight into the frame (no cups). I have a CAAD10 which has bb30.
pf30 stands for pressfit and (I think) involves pressing an unthreaded bb into the frame, I assume pf46 involves a 46mm crank.
What are you planning to do?Jake the Snake '06

It's a ploy by the bike industry to force us all back into out LBS to sort out our BB's and destroy the online retailer.
On a more helpful note, have you tried to find the frame specifications on the interweb?
Failing that, try your LBS if you are after a new BB.0 -
bb30 is a standard, there's only one bb30
if the frame is bb30 then any bearings meeting the standard will do, just avoid cheapo ones of unknown tolerance/quality
you can get generic bearings or branded sets such as these (which include the outer shields and clips)...

It is bb30 sram red cranks.
Checked the details on gt site and it just says fsa bb30, I know it has a sram one now, so is it just a case of replacing bearings?
Im just trying to understand what I will need in the future, if I see any deals I can get one in.0 -
fsa also sells bb30 bb under its brand name

or just the bearings without clips/shields/washers...

or rotor...

or ceramic if you are in the mood to spend a lot for no real difference...

or get 6806-2rs generic bearings, 6806 is the size, 2rs is with seals, but avoid low quality - the bb will be exposed to water and poor tolerances will lead to noise or fretting
bb30 is bb30, any will domy bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0
