My right hand shifter might need replacing soon but the left hand one is fine, I currently have 105 (5700) and was wondering, other than asthetics and that they might feel different in the hand, is there any issues with mixing ultegra right hand shifter with 105 left?

  • Will be slightly different in size and shape, which would feel odd IMO.
I would suggest changing cables at the same time.
    Should be no other issues.

You'll have to put up with reactions like that ^

Other than that, it'll be fine

I know someone with a MTB friction shifter by the stem for his front mech and a fully working 10-speed STI on the right. Not the most stylish but doesn't seem to affect the bike!
