Hi

I've been offered an old (1994) Saracen Kili Flyer frame which origionally was 24 speed, would I have issues fitting current Shimano gear? If yes what would the advice be to get it ride-able again?

Nope it should all work fine, but if it was me I'd stick 8 speed stuff on anyway - available, cheap and tough.

    Hi Cooldad

Are you talking about Shimano Alivio or are there other alternatives?

That's decent stuff, but I like the retro 8 speed stuff - old XT, STX shifters etc. Sometimes available NOS, or the classifieds of Retrobike.
