Quick link question

Probably a stupid question but can I buy some KMC quick links to use with the chain that is already on my bike?

I am not sure what make the current chain is but it is used on a 7 speed shimano group set. I want to install a quick link to make cleaning easier but not sure how to go about it.

    Should be fine i use KMC and SRAM quick links on various chains

    Yep just buy a 7 speed compatible quick link and stick it on - you'll need a chain tool to split the chain.
