Hopefully someone out there can help with this?
The freehub body on my Marin East Peak 5.5 is slowly self destructing, despite my best efforts to keep it maintained/lubed.I have been told that the freehub body is a Formula FH06 mated to an Alex Rims TD25. Marin don't keep the freehub body and Alex Rims don't keep the wheel anymore.
I have tried to locate a new freehub body, even tried Formula themselves but have drawn a blank.Freehub body is a cup and cone version.
Any ideas folks?

What do you do with your bikes? Jetwash them? Marins are normally pretty tough.
But the hub is a proprietary Formula one, so either find a similar one
    But possibly common

  • Thanks for the links Cooldad.I've now ordered a freehub.Hopefully this one will last longer!Unfortunately our local trails seem to be quite sandy which doesn't help.I always use muck off and never use a jet wash/power washer always sponge and hose pipe.Just one of those things I suppose? Thanks again for the help.

Ah, you wash your bike, there's the problem.
    Leave it dirtier, they're happier.
  • Bigun6767 I know its been quite a while since your post but can I ask if you got your replacement freehub from one of the links above.
I have exactly the same issue and having a nightmare identifying a replacement; your post is the first glimmer of hope that I have found! I've had the freehub apart and it has got quite corroded and pitted - In my case it almost definitely down to rides though some deeper than expected floods last winter, and not enough aftercare!
The JEJames link is still active - http://www.jejamescycles.co.uk/giant-fr ... .html#info - and available to [try and] order. Is that the part that you ordered and was it a success?
Any help/advice would be appreciated to save me having source a new hub or wheel.

He hasn't logged on since June, so you might have a wait.
But FWIW he never came back and swore at me for suggesting the wrong one, so you might be lucky.

  • Thanks Cooldad - I should have checked that (D'oh)
For £18 quid it's probably worth a punt if they can get one so I'll give it a try.
I'll come and back and swear at you if it's a dog! :)
