how easy to swap a m310 quick shifter for another identical

I had a problem with a quick shifter,

im struggling to find online a guide for swapping the 2 items over, would I have to remove the cable entirely, or is there a way of using the existing cable, im crap with my hands so just the shifter, then retuning the gears would be better.

typo, its actually a m310 shimano changer

You'll have to remove the cable. TBH, if you're going to do that you may as well take the opportunity to replace it; it's a lot easier to set up the shifter with an uncut long cable anyway.
