Has anyone done this before?

Did my first 100k/63m last month and was thinking about training for this as a first 100. Wondering if it is particularly hard, and what the weather is usually like at the end of October. I'm not exactly "fair-weather" but wouldn't fancy 100 miles on the bike in lashing rain/freezing cold.
