Hi a bit of a newbie question, are there any non-compatible aspects I need to watch out for when getting wheel skewers? I have Fulcrum wheels with Campag hub.

  • Also I wanted to run by you guys, I bought the wheels 2nd hand and was told it had Campag hubs, but after searching around on the internet they look more like Shimano Hyperglide? http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w160 ... 4597f0.jpg

Skewers are pretty standard so you should be OK buying any road skewers. Don't get mountain bike as they are different lengths.

You may well have been mislead by the sellers terminology in that the "hubs" could well be Campag but they have been fitted with a Shimano "freehub body"

From what I can make out in your photo it certainly looks like the spline pattern for a Shimano cassette ie one broad and one narrow channel close together for alignment purposes.

Not the end of the world as it's likely that if you identify the hubs you should be able to source a Campag compatible freehub and swap them over. Might be expensive tho' depending on the hub and availability

Thanks for your reply. It's worked out better for me as I have the Scott CR1 SL which has BB91 pre-fitted. I had been slightly intimidated at the cost of sourcing Campag tools and adapter cups but now I can just use Shimano everything.
  • Also would anyone have any ideas whether that freehub would be compatible with Shimano 11 speed drivetrains?
