True the wheel and glue it/tape it?
Carbon repair are expensive and not worth it if your carbon is not structural. What rim is it?left the forum March 20230 -
If the rim is structural, then probably scrap - because it is cracked, there's few ways you can make an effective structural repair without resorting to injecting structural foam and applying additional layers of resin and material to the outside and then curing under pressure - hardly a DIY job.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

As above, if it's structural then I'd say it's headed for the skip. The fact that the wheel is out of true suggests this may be the case.
If it's just the aero fairing then it could probably be patched up, but I think you might end up with a wobbly wheel due to the weight of the repair?0 -
Just to add, if the spoke nipple is 'bedded' in the fairing rather than the rim and the fact that it's cracked across the spoke hole means that you really need to get inside the rim to reinforce it properly, otherwise the spoke nipple will likely just get pulled through again when retensioned. If you wind-off all the tension in the spokes, is the rim still out of true? Again, if it's distorted then its scrap.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

Cheers Gents - its a 50mm HED carbon clincher rear job that I got for nothing on the off chance that I could repair it: I'm going to have a look at it when I've had more than 6 hours sleep in 4 days: if its a no go I'll turn it into a clock or a coffee table. Hub is cool so one for the Big Box of Bits to match up to a cheapo China rim in due course.
Ta muchly again.
