Sram Red Cranks

So i fitted some Sram red exogram gxp cranks to my 2013 Allez, thinking this would be compatible. I used this with a chris king bottom bracket to find there was a ~5mm gap once the cranks were fully torqued.
I put a 2.5mm bb spacer either side of the bb cups and the cranks then sat flush, but ever since setting it up the cranks have been creaking. I have changed the BB to a truvativ/sram model but the creaking still persists. I have checked all the usual suspects such as chainring bolts, pedals, seatpost, bars etc.
I also took it to the LBS and they said it was a BB compatibility issue. I am unsure whether it is or not because after changing the BB the creaking still persisted. I did note that the chainring bolts were originally over-torqued and snapped one as i took them out to grease them. Would it be worth changing them all to see if this is the cause of the problem?
Sorry for the long post!

Have you tried greasing pedal threads?0
