I have been toying with the idea of riding round the first stage of next year's Tour de France in Yorkshire. However I don't really want to be riding on busy A roads and city centers,so now I'm looking at doing a shorter version that takes in the scenic bits and a few hills.
Could anyone with knowledge of the area suggest a loop of around 80 miles that might suit my needs.
The title of a course on Garmin Connect would be great!

Did this in July. Kettlewell to kettlewell. Lots of Stage 1 here. You can cut across to Grassington to shorten it.

Along almost exactly the same lines but cutting across from pateley bridge to grassington as suggested and taking in fleet moss: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/3104184
I'm hopefully going to do this route either friday or saturday of this week depending on the weather.0 -
Thanks for the suggestions folks. The shorter version with "only" 8100ft of climbs will be plenty enough for me.0
