How technical is it? Up there this week and am busily cobbling together an off road beast. Old school, rigid, new xt etc.
Also have many family up there. Any route suggestions for newbies/oldies/youngsters on hire bikes to give them a taste?

I think this run in Grizedale is pretty easy, not that technical for a Black run. I like the bridleways on Claife Heights myself, might be good for relatively fit newbies. There are a wide range of waymarked trails in Grizedale though - might be better for kids?

If you want some more technical & challenging go for Garbun (heading to Stavley) via Jenkins crag (nr Ambleside).

    Cheers Passout, (sic) .
Busy packing. Will give it a go, hopefully entice some of the keener family members into the 'dark pleasures'.
    Have a great Bank Holiday.
