i am looking to trade up from my Whyte 805 (2011)

With money from the sale of that bike, plus a bit i have in the bank i want to get a newer bike.

i am 6ft 8 so was wondering if the step up to a 29er was worth it or not?
Yesterday is History, Tomorrow a Mystery, Today is a Gift, Thats why it's called the Present

so im grabbing my bike and going for a ride

    Why is a 29er a "step up"?

What deficiencies have you identified in your 805 that you want to fix with the upgrade? Do you find that you need more travel? Is the geometry to steep for the terrain and riding you are tackling?

What budget are you expecting to have to fill your chosen desires?

Basically from what I can see the 805 seems like a pretty decent xc/trail oriented hardtail probably a little race oriented, pretty light so what do you want to get out of your new bike?

Im going to ask you next time when I'm thinking of purchasing a new bike :). Sold my Canyon after only a year, to get another and not much difference between the two bikes. I was a bit naive about it all. Didnt really ride my canyon enough or get it set up right looking back. Would have been better off just getting wide bars, shorter stem than a new bike.

    Hindsight eh!
