Replacing a Trek propertiery rear shock

Hi. I have a 2013 Trek Fuel Ex 7 with a Fox 7.25x2.00 rear shock which is different from the standard Fox 6.5 or 7.5x2.00 rear shocks. In case I want to replace it and a Trek shock isn't available what can I do? Will 0.25 be much enough to cause any problems if I use the 7.5x2.00 standard Fox option?

It will alter the geometry slighty - will raise the bottom bracket a bit, and steepen the angles. it wouldn't be too drastic - and many shocks can be sent off and shortened anyway.0

OK I see. So is it possible to shorten the eye to eye distance without affecting the stroke? Would it make sense to equally increase the fork (from 130 to 140) in order to maintain the same geometry but with a higher BB?0

I'd contact tuning place like Mojo to discuss the tuning options. They often have odd sized shocks in stock anyway, or bits to change them. Increasing the fork too will raise the BB even higher.0
