Afan - Skyline
Hi,
Has anyone done Skyline recently?
I ride The Wall, Whites or sometimes W2 twice a week so Skyline is the remaining trail for me to conquer.
Is it still worth doing at the moment with all the diversions? Taken from the Afan website:
"The Eastern section of the Skyline trail including: Airstrip, Rhondda, Excalibur, South Pit,
Handy Andy and Grand Canyon will be closed to riders during the development of Pen y
Cymoedd wind farm. Several new trail sections are in place called ‘Rocky 1, 2 & 3’. These
sections start at the end of 'Riding High' and take riders down past 'Granada' to the start
of another diversion section from Post 66 that will take you to windy point where it will join
the Whites Level trail and return to Glycorrwg. This adds approximately 11.8km to the
ride, please make sure you add sufficient time to your planned ride time. "
How does it compare to W2?
Thanks!
Jon

Siply put from my own experience, I don't think you get out what you put in.
I'd do 2 of the shorter ones in preference.

I was really disappointed with it. Seemed like 30 miles of fire road and the diversions were pretty badly signposted when I went (about a year ago).
However some people rave about the trail and think it's great.0
