Meeting Cyclists

I had a pretty cool experience the other week. Whilst waiting to pump up my tyres at the local Evans bike shop I noticed the girl in front of me is struggling to inflate hers, so naturally as all good gentleman should, I offer to help. Anyway we're chatting away etc and as we say goodbye to go our separate ways I got thinking. What with the rise of cyclists in London and now the large number of female cyclists, would it be possible to actually meet someone whilst commuting?!

Anyone had that happen before?

I've never seen anyone as I commute through London, the roads are empty. :D

I presume you mean could you pull whilst cycling? Probably yes (assuming you could pull in a non cycling environment and aren't some pug ugly social retard or ginger) you at least have a shared interest to get you started, but you'll need some good one liners, you don't get long to work your magic stopped at set of traffic lights.

Something like "Hey nice ass chuck! Do you mind if I ride behind you for a while?" should help to break the ice.

Yeah, you'd have to work your magic pretty damn quickly at a set of lights! I've been asked directions at lights before but not a lot more than that. You could try to meet burds at cycling cafes like Look Mum No Hands I suppose..... I once got approached for advice at a Cycle Surgery. A colleague had asked me to accompany him to the shop to advise him on what bike to get and I think the woman thought I was a member of staff and asked me to help her....

What, those strava traces converging and then heading coyly off to the Park Lane Hilton (or more probably some dive hotel in Cricklewood) where they all go to 'pause' for twenty romantic minutes before heading off in their separate ways? Can't hide anything these days......

Met a girl on a train from London > Brighton whilst trying to fight off hypothermia and drying my socks on the rads

She tried to pick you up whilst your smelly socks steamed gently nearby? Either she was desperate or you're absolutely stunning to look at...

Haha... Will have to scour Strava for traces like that... Park lane Hilton? I've met Asprilla, Veronese and cjcp and I think I'd definitely go for something a little more down market - perhaps a B&B down a quiet side street in Kings Cross or something....

I used to see a lovely blond girl riding through Bushy Park in the opposite direction most mornings, we'd smile as we passed. Well she always seemed to be smiling and the sight of her made me smile. This soon escalated to a cheery "morning" as our paths crossed. Then we progressed to having a chat if we met at the gates. I'm pretty sure the next step could only have been a knee trembler in the bushes, but unfortunately I was off the bike for a few months and haven't seen her since I've been back on it.
That is how it works isn't it?

Did she ride a blue pinarello and answer to the name of Rob (short for Roberta, presumably)?

Apparently that becomes a more regular occurrence as you get older.

    What?

A Bushy Park or failing to come up with jokes?
