Skipping gear when I move pedal backwards

The rear cog skips down if I move pedal backwards and then loosen/ slackens off and all goes a bit pear shape after.

Sorry for not being technical, but any ideas?
Wanted: Cube Streamer/Agree GTC Compact / Pro/ Race : 53cm

    Stiff link in the chain or the rear mech hanger is out of alignment.
    Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

    sounds like indexing / derailleur alignment issue.
    find a you tube gear indexing video* and follow that.

    *can something on youtube be called a video - thats showing my age isn't it?
