Wheel bearings

I have a pair of Halo Combat Wheels on my bikehttp://www.chainreactioncycles.com/halo-combat-rear-wheel/rp-prod12386 (think they have ID hubs).
I want to service the hubs but cannot find what size bearings they take. I can't find anything on Halo's website, apart from the fact that they're loose bearings, and the chain reaction site just says that they use a standard loose ball bearing system.
Any ideas how I find the correct size? Is is worth retaining the loose bearing system or can it be changed to a cartridge bearing system (if so, would there be any difference between them)?

Depends what 'standard' is but if it's Shimano standard it's 3/16th front (11 per side), 1/4 back (9 per side).
But if you've never serviced them chances are they just need a clean, grease and adjust.
Again assuming cup and cone.
Have a look. You'll need cone spanners.I don't do smileys.

Some Shimano use 1/4 up front as well.........Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0
