Pushloc, is it worth it?

Looking at some rebas on merlin and a little torn between the rl and rlt models.

Not too bothered about the lockout threshold as far as I can tell, doubt I'd use it. The rlt model comes with pushloc for just under £300, which is only £30 more than the rl without the pushloc, never used remote lockout though so as after some view as to wether people use it or not.

Thanks

I have it and never use it. Pointless feature.
  • no.

Removed the one from my Reba's. Pushloc was crap, 1 soggy ride and it stopped working.

I never use remotes, but know plenty of folk that do.

I use the remote all the time, fireroad climbs, roads etc, comes in handy and you really do notice the lack of bobbing! The remote comes in handy when you launch into a trail and forget to take the lockout off ....

If you have space on your bars for it, get it. I looked into the lever for the ctd for my fox's front & rear but have no space really available, where my brakes & gears are, it means my reverb pushloc quiet far in. :D
  • Pointless in my opinion , can easily turn lockout on top of fork leg without even stopping

But not while bouncing through a rock garden!

If the rock garden is that bad, you'll be off the bike 1st.

Remember, the threshold tuning will let the lock out blow out on big hits.

Fair enough,I still like my poploc though! Probably depends a lot on your riding as well, I do mainly XC so would use it a fair bit.

with the pop lock fork you loose the ability to adjust the compression unless you go for the stupidly expensive pop lock adjust. You can use cheaper home made remote like an old style non-indexed gear lever.

I find it easy enough to just reach down and turn the lock out on or off.

I have a poploc on my Rebas and wished I didn't.

It's only worth locking the fork on road but if you are on the road you should have lycra, a peakless helmet, stupid shaped handle bars and skinny tyres.

For some reason, some forks default setting is locked out if the pushloc is removed, so you'll need to check that out first.

Thanks for the advice, doesn't seem like pushloc is something for me then, never had it so I doubt I'll miss it.

What are people's thoughts on the adjustable lockout threshold on the rlt's?

I have had Revelations and Lyriks with adjustable floodgate threshold. Its ok but I wouldn't pay extra to have it.

Need to disconnect the spring in the damper, did it on mine! Very easy!

Is that the little allen key bolt on top of the lockout dial thing on the right side of the fork ?

The rebas you sold to me are very nice compared to suntour xcm forks i had previously, i dont seem to miss the handlebar lockout at all now.

I would just buy them without the pushloc.

    All of that stuff

If you re XC racing, yes, if not no....Even if you re doing marathons i'd question it.
We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

Ahh no, the ones I sold you had a fixed threshold I believe (as they are RL's). The RLT is the version with variable threshold.

    Glad you like the forks!!

Have it on my pikes, use it on every climb, or on real flat riding, wouldnt be without.
